Not this time, I found the intro warm and inviting. It let me know right off the bat that the author was not only a medical professional, but an abuse survivor. Despite her career choice she did not come off as an "expert" who had the answers. She touched on h|From the Author|I wrote the first edition of this book many years ago when I was working in an adolescent psych unit and realized that there were no great books available for teens or adults who wanted something that was easy to read.  I never publish
